STAY ALIVE DIASTER GUIDE

Welcome to Stay Alive Disaster Guide. One week ago , I found myself sitting in a hurricane being described as catastrophic, the worst storm to hit Florida, and citizens who choose to stay were instructed to write in permanent marker on their leg , name and birthday. I was like WTF is going on. All the local people around me were like," it never hits", "we are ok". I was like what am I suppose to do? I was in panic mode. First I checked outside in the yard and there were all kind of things that could fly into the windows, so I loaded it inside. Taped all the windows, filled tubs with water, got my candles and flashlight. Said a pray, and stayed glued to the tv to hear about this very large, catastropic cat 2 storm that would reach cat 4 heading for me. Boom, powers out, but I got my flash light and candle for light. And I had my phone to follow so I would know when and what was coming at me. Boom, phone died, and Im hungry. I hope this will be over soon . I should have got some food ready. Boom flashlight dies, well I still have my candle, What if it floods the 5, 10, 20 feet swells they predicted. I will get on the roof i guess, but the wind was 70 to 120 mph they said. Would it blow me off the roof?

My mission with this blog is to educate myself and others on the critical importance of being ready for potential disasters. Join me on this journey of learning, growth, and community engagement as we navigate the challenges of disaster preparedness. Let's equip ourselves with the tools and information we need to stay safe, informed , and ready for whatever Mother Nature may bring our way.

As for my hurricane story, I was fortunate . No damage, no flooding, and power was on by morning. But many others were not so fortunate.
